n a post by Peter C. Evans, PhD of Circular Tech Strategy, referring to his article titled “Five Software Companies Shaping the Circular Economy” Peter shares:
“In this new article, I highlight how software is shifting from supporting a linear economy to powering circular business models by efficiently and systematically handling resale, repair, reverse logistics, and recycling.
A new generation of software platforms is extending product lifecycles, managing multi-channel resale, ensuring compliance and trust, and optimizing operations through automation, AI, and data integration.
These platforms mark a fundamental shift in value creation: returns and resale are no longer seen as costs, but as central to closing the circularity delta-- capturing new value and protecting margins. By digitizing and scaling circular flows, they redefine competitiveness and support a future where products generate value across multiple lifecycles. “
In the article highlights Evercycle capabilities, mentioning “One of Evercycle’s key strengths lies in its robust data capture and reporting capabilities. The platform captures detailed, time-stamped information across every transaction and device movement, providing a complete chain of custody history. This comprehensive data supports regulatory compliance, security requirements, and ESG (environmental, social, and governance) reporting. Organizations gain actionable insights through prebuilt dashboards and analytics that highlight asset utilization, repair versus replacement decisions, and sustainability impact, helping maximize the ROI from IT assets while reducing environmental footprint.
Evercycle’s support for sustainable IT hardware management means organizations can implement hands-free circularity programs at scale, keeping teams productive while protecting data and minimizing waste. Its white-labeling and API integrations with existing enterprise systems ensure flexibility and rapid deployment, making it suitable for diverse industries including corporate, government, education, and managed services. Real-world use cases, such as recovering thousands of devices across distributed locations within tight timelines with minimal disruption, demonstrate Evercycle’s ability to drive operational efficiency and accountability throughout IT asset circularity.“
Highlights from the podcast
Stephen: “We are focusing on the best we can be as a device circularity platform, not an ERP, not an MDM, not a financial solution…”
Victoria: This industry is massive - the circular economy, where reuse is the pinnacle of the value chain. Reuse is key. - 75% of the carbon footprint of a single device is in the creation of the device, if you can reuse and redeploy a device, give it a second life you can contribute carbon credits back to your organization.
Victoria: What do you think the biggest myth is in our industry?
Stephen: People think that the technology doesn’t exist, that the solution is not out there, that they need 17 different tools to accomplish one thing. But the technology is there, Evercycle is proof of that. In addition, people assume organizations have a good grasp on their device footprint, but they don’t. We are shedding light on the fact that an organization can extend the device lifecycle and recover value from devices worth potentially millions of dollars.
They can get onboarded in days, not months and solve this out of the box at a fraction of the cost of the typical alternatives.
