12,000 shipments created in under 24 hours—without adding staff.
An urgent employee offboarding initiative required thousands of corporate devices to be recovered from remote locations across the United States. Using Evercycle, an IT asset disposition partner automated the coordination, launched shipments at scale, and managed the program without adding staff or disrupting other customer work.
Following a workforce reduction affecting more than 7,000 remote employees, the world’s largest cloud CRM needed to recover laptops, smartphones, tablets, desktops, and monitors from 3,360 locations.
Its IT asset disposition (ITAD) partner faced more than a high shipment volume. Each employee could have a different combination of devices, requiring appropriate packaging, shipping services, and return instructions. Every returned device also needed to remain connected to the original request and employee record.
Managing those decisions manually would have required months of work, temporary staff, and employees diverted from other projects.
Evercycle turned the device manifest into coordinated return workflows.
The ITAD partner uploaded the device and employee records in bulk. Configured rules determined return routing, packaging, shipping service levels, and label reference information. Automated tracking and notifications kept participants informed as the program progressed.
When shipments arrived, the partner used Evercycle’s receiving tools to log returns and compare the devices received against those expected. A shared dashboard brought shipment status, exceptions, and reporting into one place.
Evercycle coordinated the program; the ITAD partner fulfilled kits, received devices, and performed downstream processing.
The partner created 12,000 shipments in less than 24 hours without manual data entry. More than 6,000 return kits were en route within 48 hours, and devices began arriving within four days.
The program delivered an estimated $288,000 in labor savings and $4.5 million in recovered device value. Automated status updates and reporting reduced end-user support effort by 85%.
The partner completed the work without additional staff, overtime, or disruption to its other programs. The recovery also delivered a reported 105,600 kg reduction in carbon emissions, with all devices following R2-certified disposition processes.
“Evercycle is a huge time saving and a much better process than we had before.”
